Executive Agencies

USACHPPM logo

The mission of the Gulf War Illness Team (GWI) is to determine the intensity and duration of exposure to the fumes of burning oil well fires and the subsequent risk to Gulf War (GW) veterans. Additionally, it investigates and documents other exposures that occurred in the Persian Gulf and cooperates with DOD, Department of Veterans Affairs, and university researchers studying Gulf War Veteran's illnesses.
