Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Medical Command
Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Army Surgeon General

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Dixon enlisted in the Army as a Combat Medic, and has served over thirty years of active duty in positions of increased responsibility.  A graduate of Class 47 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, CSM Dixon was recognized for outstanding student research with the General Ralph E. Haines Award.  She was assigned to her current position - Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Medical Command and Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Army Surgeon General - in December 2007.

In addition to three tours in Germany and tours in Hawaii and Alaska, CSM Dixon has been assigned to Fort Devens, Massachusetts; Fort Hood, Texas; San Francisco, California; Fort Gordon, Georgia; Fort Detrick, Maryland; and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC.  She has served in leadership and staff positions at various levels, including assignments with the Medical Department Activity Alaska, Letterman Army Medical Center, 7th Medical Command, 36th Medical Battalion, 68th Medical Group, 30th Medical Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, and 25th Infantry Division.

At the Nominative Command Sergeant Major level, she served as CSM of the Southeast Regional Medical Command/ Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia; Medical Research and Materiel Command & Fort Detrick, Fort Detrick, Maryland; and the North Atlantic Regional Medical Command/Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C.

CSM Dixon has graduated with honors from numerous military courses to include the Combat Medical Specialist Course; Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist Course; Battle Staff NCO Course; Joint Deployment Officer Course; and all levels of the NCO Education System.  Other professional achievements include her selection as the 1983 Health Services Command (now U.S. Army Medical Command) Soldier of the Year and membership in both the Sergeant Morales and the Sergeant Audie Murphy Clubs.  CSM Dixon holds a Master of Science Degree in Business and Organizational Management, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.  She was inducted into the Order of Military Medical Merit for significant contributions to the Army Medical Department.

Her awards and decorations include the Expert Field Medical Badge, the Legion of Merit, seven awards of the Meritorious Service Medal, four awards of the Army Commendation Medal, four awards of the Army Achievement Medal, the NATO Medal, and numerous service medals.  CSM Dixon’s passion is teaching, coaching, and mentoring at all levels.
